Gear Driven Spindles
For those heavy duty boring and milling applications, SETCO offers standard lines of gear-driven spindles. Gear-driven spindles utilize internal helical gear sets and produce high torque for low speed applications. Standard gear-driven spindles are offered in gear ratios of 3:1, 5:1, and 10:1 and available in Parallel, Right-angle and Worm Gear configurations.

4200PG - Parallel Gear
There are five standard models of the 4200PG Gear Driven Spindles. These spindles feature helical reduction gearing in a parallel gear design to transmit power to the main spindle shaft. This design produces very high torque at low speed operation for tough milling applications. The 4200PG is available in ratios of 3-to-1 or 5-to-1. Consult factory for higher gear ratios. As standard theses spindles are equipped with a flanged spindle nose that is configurable for piloted bolt-on tooling. Alternate tool noses are available as options.
4200WG Series – Worm Gear
There are five standard models of the 4200WG Gear Driven Spindles. These spindles feature “Cone” Drive double enveloping work gear system to transmit power to the main spindle shaft. The 4200WG spindles are available in ratios of 5-to-1 and 10-to-1 gear rations. Consult factory for higher gear ratios. As standard they are equipped with a flanged spindle nose that is configurable for piloted bolt-on tooling. Alternate tool noses are available as options.
RM Series – Worm Gear Milling Spindle
There are three base models of the right angle RM Series Worm Gear Milling Spindles. These spindles feature a high-torque compact design and a perfect fit for applications requiring the power a geared spindle. RM spindles are offered in 5-to-1 and 10-to-1 gear rations and feature “Cone” Drive double enveloping worm reduction gearing. To suit the application, the input shaft can be configured for left or right side as viewed from the spindle nose. The RM series uses heavy duty Timken Roller Bearings and equipped with NMTBA noses. Alternate tool noses are available as options. The RM series spindle can be configured to include an adjustable motor plate. Consult factory for higher gear ratios and additional options.
